What it measures

Cash pay disclosed for a named executive officer. It leaves out stock and option awards, which are usually the largest slice of senior-executive pay — so this figure sits well below the headline total compensation you see in the press. Only the handful of officers named in the annual US proxy filing are disclosed; a blank row means the figure isn't published for that person, not that they're unpaid.
